The introduction of Jeuveau earlier this year made waves in the aesthetic industry.
If you are curious about Jeuveau, continue reading to learn all about this exciting neuromodulator, including its similarities to Botox.
What Is Jeuveau?
Jeuveau is an FDA-approved injectable designed to relax facial wrinkles and produce a more refreshed and youthful appearance.
It is also the first new neurotoxin to enter the aesthetic market in almost 10 years and joins the ranks of Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.
How Is Jeuveau Different from Other Neurotoxins?
Like its competitors, Jeuveau is composed of botulinum toxin type A and is injected into overactive facial muscles to inhibit wrinkle-causing facial expressions.
However, unlike other neurotoxins, Jeuveau is exclusively a cosmetic product. In other words, it is not indicated for any medical applications, such as chronic migraines, strabismus, or overactive bladder.
Are Botox and Jeuveau Comparable?
Jeuveau is the only FDA-approved neuromodulator that is molecularly identical to Botox. Accordingly, Jeuveau is comparable to Botox for Men results in terms of efficacy and safety profile and can be used interchangeably for cosmetic purposes.
With that being said, Evolus, the manufacturers of Jeuveau, claim that their purification system may be able to extend Jeuveau’s longevity beyond that of its competitors.
What Is the Price Point for Jeuveau?
Because Jeuveau is for cosmetic-use only, Evolus is offering it at a lower price point than Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin.
While this may equate to reduced cost of treatment, patients must keep in mind that they are also paying for injector expertise, training, and skill set.
Accordingly, some injectors may charge the same amount for all FDA-approved neurotoxin treatments.
How Long Do Jeuveau Results Last?
Jeuveau is able to reduce wrinkles and smooth skin for three-to-four months. After this time period, patients will need to undergo additional injections in order to maintain treatment benefits.
