MMA Octagon Girl History

MMA OCTAGON GIRLS

The concept of MMA Octagon girls is the same as boxing. A beautiful woman carries a card in between rounds to alert spectators what round is coming up.

The tradition of having Octagon girls in MMA has been contested, with many people undermining the women who do the job.

But, as Olivia Nazarewich of Diply points out, Octagon girls are powerful women–not just bimbos. Kahili Blundell is a great example of an MMA Octagon girl who is bold, beautiful and also a co-owner of a swimwear company–that’s a boss.

Arianny Celeste, one of the most well-recognized Octagon girls in the history of MMA, believes that people overlook the full spectrum of the job as well.

“What people don’t know is we are representing the sport — we’re not just pretty faces that walk around with a card. We have to be in tip-top shape and know what is going on with the sport,” said Celeste (via Reddit).
